Clara et Sarah, deux sœurs, vivent avec leurs parents en marge de la société, au sein d'un groupe chrétien évangélique à la campagne. Lorsque Sarah disparaît soudainement, le monde de Clara s'effondre. L'adolescente s'enfuit elle aussi dans l'espoir de ramener sa sœur. Elle arrive à Montréal et découvre un monde qui lui était jusqu'alors inconnu....
