Il y a les héros, les super-héros et il y a… Hancock. Ses super pouvoirs lui ont souvent permis de sauver d’innombrables vies, mais les dégâts monstrueux qu’il fait au passage ont fini par le rendre impopulaire. Les habitants de Los Angeles n’en peuvent plus et se demandent ce qu’ils ont bien pu faire pour mériter un « héros » pareil. Hancock est une tête de mule irascible qui n’est pas du genre à se soucier de ce que pensent les gens… du moins jusqu’à ce qu’il sauve la vie de Ray Embrey, un spécialiste des relations publiques. Le super-héros le plus détesté au monde commence alors à réaliser qu’il n’est pas aussi insensible qu’il voudrait le faire croire….

Hancock's Half Hour is a BBC radio comedy, and later television comedy, series of the 1950s and 60s written by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson. The series starred Tony Hancock, with Sid James; the radio version also co-starred, at various times, Moira Lister, Andrée Melly, Hattie Jacques, Bill Kerr and Kenneth Williams. The final television series, renamed simply Hancock, starred Hancock alone. Comedian Tony Hancock starred in the show, playing an exaggerated and much poorer version of his own character and lifestyle, Anthony Aloysius St John Hancock, a down-at-heel comedian living at the dilapidated 23 Railway Cuttings in East Cheam.
