10 000 ans avant notre ère, au cœur des montagnes... Le jeune chasseur D'Leh aime d'amour tendre la belle Evolet, une orpheline que sa tribu recueillit quelques années plus tôt. Lorsque celle-ci est enlevée par une bande de pillards, D'Leh se lance à sa rescousse à la tête d'une poignée de chasseurs de mammouths.
